DEADLY ABORTION PILL RU-486 EXPERIMENTATION ON CANADIAN WOMEN

SHARE: E-mail E-MAIL  Print PRINT

VANCOUVER, July 7 (LSN.ca) - Ellen Wiebe, a controversial abortionist in British Columbia has announced that she has legally commenced the first experimentation with the deadly RU-486 abortion pill on Canadian women and their unborn children. Although the federal government has shied away from the drugs due to health considerations, the radically pro-abortion BC government has insisted on the trials and has funded the experimentation with at least $52,000 through the Vancouver-Richmond regional health board. The Vancouver Sun reports that the approval for the year-long study came April 26. The experimentation commenced 10 days ago in Vancouver, Quebec City, Sherbrooke, Que. and Women's College Hospital in Toronto.

The driving force behind the push for RU-486 is to increase availability of abortions which translates into increased numbers. Mathewes-Green notes a 1998 Kaiser Foundation survey in which 45 percent of family practice doctors said they would be willing to dispense RU 486, though just 3 percent had ever done a surgical abortion. Moreover Mathewes-Green says that while a woman might find that arranging travel to the big-city clinic isn't worth the hassle, picking up some pill from her hometown drugstore might be too easy to refuse.

Opponents have constantly warned that, besides being an abortion pill that kills a new human life, RU-486 has many serious negative health dangers for women who use this powerful and complex drug procedure. They also warn that women are being used, abused and subjected to likely long-term serious health hazards for the sake of drug company profits and social engineering agendas such as radical feminism and population control.

MARCH OF WOMEN HEAD SPEAKS AT UN FOR ALL WESTERN WOMEN

SHARE: E-mail E-MAIL  Print PRINT

UNITED NATIONS, July 7 (LSN.ca) - Fran¨oise David, president of the Quebec Federation of Women (FFQ) - the organization responsible for the World March of Women 2000, spoke to the General Assembly at the United Nations on June 9 after the close of the Bejing +5 conference. In her speech she claimed to represent all women from North America and Europe, specifically those of all faiths. "I am here to represent the women of North America and both Eastern and Western Europe. I speak in the name of the diverse women who live in our region: young and older women, of all faiths, ethnic origin and social conditions, white women and women of colour, native women, heterosexual and lesbian women, migrant women and disabled women," she said.

In a fashion typical of UN feminists, David cleverly couched demands for radical feminist causes, specifically abortion, within demands for seriously needed actions to fight poverty and various forms of violence against women. In the name of all the women she claimed to represent, she also used language fully understood at the UN to mean abortion. "States must remember that women have an inalienable right to make choices about their lives and their sexual and their reproductive health. We demand that these rights be recognized," she said.

Obviously referring to the great success of pro-life, pro-family forces at the meeting, she said, "Now that the Special Session of the General Assembly is over and now that it is clear how difficult it is to make progress when it comes to women's right to equality and freedom, we want to say loudly and clearly that our struggle will not end here." She goes on to "demand another gathering, in 2005, a fifth world conference on women."

David also notes that the "World March of Women in the Year 2000 will culminate here at the United Nations on October 17th" where the petitions for the demands will be presented to Kofi Anan.

CANADIAN ALLIANCE INFIGHTING OVER LEADERSHIP HURTING PARTY

SHARE: E-mail E-MAIL  Print PRINT

OTTAWA, July 7 (LSN.ca) -. A letter has been released by Canadian Alliance interim leader Deborah Gray indicating that one of MP Eric Lowther's close associates warned him against using negative attacks on Stockwell Day. The letter has been interpreted by Manning supporters as a threat to Lowther that his nomination could be in jeopardy from Day supporters if he does not stop his negative comments. The letter from Ted Morton to Day did not ask Lowther to switch allegiance to Stockwell Day.

Today's Globe and Mail reports that in response to accusations about the letter "Prof. Morton said he is a good friend of Mr. Lowther's and was simply trying to offer him friendly advice. He added that the two men have been talking since last January about how Mr. Lowther can protect his job." Morton also stated to the Globe "I remain one of his greatest admirers and supporters, so it's absurd to suggest that I would threaten or would use (the letter) as an instrument to threaten a person I support and support so strongly. Deb has completely misinterpreted this".

In a second Globe article , writer Hugh Winsor states that "the only way one should take his letter seriously is as an example of some astute insider analysis of the current state of the Canadian Alliance leadership race. There is no evidence that Prof. Morton has undertaken this particular civics lesson on behalf of anyone other than himself."

The Globe article also notes that "By making the letter to Mr. Lowther public, the Manning side has only drawn attention to some of Prof. Morton's strong points', with the first Morton item noted that the attacks on Stockwell Day will hurt the party itself.

RWANDA GENOCIDE REPEAT IN CONGO AND INDONESIA?

SHARE: E-mail E-MAIL  Print PRINT

BUKAVU, Congo, July 7 (LSN.ca) - As the world remains horrified over the planned genocide of over 800,000 people that took place in Rwanda and the complicity of the UN and US in allowing it to happen, a similar scenario is shaping up in Congo and Indonesia.

The National Post reported yesterday that the same hate radio broadcasts which directed the Rwandan massacres are now ordering Congolese tribes to murder Tutsis. The UN commanding general in Rwanda, Romeo Dallaire, made it clear upon his return that much of the slaughter was orchestrated by the hate radio broadcasts which could have easily been knocked out with minimal personnel, expenditure or risk. His plans were however vetoed by his superiors at the UN, even after the mass killings had gone on for some time. Leaders of the Congolese Tutsi community in Bukavu, a town at the tip of Lake Kivu and on the border with Rwanda, recently released an open letter to the international community pleading for help to prevent another genocide.

Similar pleas for help from the international community were recently made in a joint statement by Catholic and Protestant groups in Indonesia. Zenit News reported that the June 25 joint statement called for an international force to put an end to the Christian "cleansing" going on in the Moluccas Islands. Catholic Bishop Jos Tethool of Amboina diocese is pleading that "At least 100,000 Christians need immediate evacuation because they are in serious danger of being slaughtered by Muslim-jihad troops." Church buildings and Christian University Campuses have been destroyed by fire. We earnestly hope that this cry will bring immediate response in order to prevent a worsening process of genocide (Christian cleansing) in the Moluccas," the joint statement read.

With the Rwandan Report released yesterday suggesting that UN coordinated forces delayed unanswerably in intervening to stop the Rwandan genocide, it is hoped that very quick action on the new fronts will be forthcoming from the international community.

SUBARU'S HOMOSEXUAL AD CAMPAIGN

SHARE: E-mail E-MAIL  Print PRINT

WASHINGTON, July 5 (LSN.ca) - A Subaru car ad geared to homosexuals has created controversy with the ad campaign "It's Not a Choice. It's the Way We're Built." While ostensibly referring to Subaru cars being all-wheel drive, the ad is also intended to communicate the company's pro-homosexual views. "It's apparent to gay people that we're talking about being gay, but straight people don't know what's going on," campaign co-producer Paul Poux, founder of Poux Co., told the Washington Post.

The Washington Post reports that for the past six years, Subaru advertising has targeted homosexuals, partially through its support of the Rainbow Card program, a Visa card that generates money to gay-related causes. Subaru's have become popular with the homosexual subculture, one lesbian Subaru driver muses "we call [Subarus] Lesbarus," and another says: "I'm never surprised when I look across a lane of traffic and see a woman in a Subaru and think she might be gay."

WorldNetDaily reports that teachers at a Massachusetts high school are being encouraged to "work on [their] own biases" against homosexuality in order to create a "safe zone" for students struggling with sexuality issues. A handout distributed to all faculty of the Springfield High School of Science and Technology, entitled "What teachers can do to make schools safe for lesbians, gays and bisexuals", lists 11 suggestions "to protect the most maligned victims in today's society -- the gay, lesbian and bisexual students." Teachers are also encouraged to use "inclusive language that implicitly allows for gay, lesbian and bisexual possibilities by using 'parent' rather than 'mother' or 'father,' 'spouse' or 'partner' rather than 'wife' or 'husband,' etc."
