ANNIVERSARY OF DOCTOR SHOOTING USED AS EXCUSE TO BASH PRO-LIFERS

SHARE: E-mail E-MAIL  Print PRINT

TORONTO, Oct 16 (LSN) - With the approach of November 11, pro-aborts have chosen to create anti-pro-life publicity by warning doctors to beware of a gunman who appears to strike around the week of Remembrance Day. A story in the Toronto Sun detailed the shootings and demonstrated severe bias by giving no coverage to the pro-life response to allegations. The Sun article quoted an abortion provider as blaming the shootings on the pro-life movement without commenting on the absence of any proof for the claim. "This is a scare tactic by the anti-choice," declared a staffer at the Morgentaler abortuary.

Despite years of investigation, police have never discovered the perpetrators of abortionist shootings or the culprit responsible for the bombing of Toronto's Morgentaler abortuary. The Sun chose not to emphasize this important point.

The shooting of abortionists and the lack of success by police in solving the crimes does more to harm than help to the pro-life cause, leading some activists to question the real source of such violence. Some pro-lifers are concerned about the possibilities of a cover-up in the Morgentaler arson case after information that the trail was leading away from pro-lifers as the suspects.

In an interview with The Ottawa Times earlier this year, Jim Hughes head of Campaign Life Coalition, said that his organization opened up their books to assist the police in their work to solve these cases of violence. He then noted that attempts by the police to gain similar access to the records of abortion groups failed.

The Canadian Medical Association will also be publishing safety tips for doctors and is urging caution around Remembrance Day.

FREDERICTON, Oct 16 (LSN) - Fredericton Mayor Brad Woodside, who in September was ordered by the New Brunswick Human Rights Commission to proclaim Gay Pride Week, made the proclamation at a council meeting Tuesday. The mayor, however, does not appear to be taking the ruling pacifely. Prior to reading the declaration, he switched off his microphone. Homosexual activists are infuriated and intend to pursue the matter.

DISNEY HIRING PEDOPHILES?

SHARE: E-mail E-MAIL  Print PRINT

ORLANDO, Florida, Oct 16 (LSN) - The Conservative News Service (CNS) reported Wednesday on a book by investigative journalists which alleges that Disney World "has allowed known child molesters to gain employment at the resort without being subjected to a $15 criminal background check." The authors, Peter and Rochelle Schweizer, say in their book, "Disney - The Mouse Betrayed - Greed, Corruption, and Children at Risk," that Disney finds the cost of running criminal checks on employees prohibitive. However, others suggest that the real reason behind the unwillingness to check out their employees is the fear of the results. They provide numerous examples of known pedophiles working at the theme park.

Michael Gibbons, a former Orlando assistant district attorney, said "If Disney were honest and did criminal background checks, we would be shocked and appalled at who's working at their parks and what they have been convicted of." Rene Bray, who founded a group called Kids in Danger of Sexploitation, (KIDS), after her daughter was molested by a former Disney employee, agrees and calls Disney's cost explanation "just an excuse." CNS quotes an unnamed source close to the story as saying that "The story caused a huge blow-up and ABC has asked for resignations."

Disney has denied the allegations saying that it has tested some employees, particularly those who deal with money or baby-sit children.

US PRESIDENT EXPECTED TO VETO ANAEMIC ABORTION RESTRICTIONS ON UN FUNDS

WASHINGTON, Oct 16 (LSN) - US pro-life Congressman Chris Smith has succeeded in retaining at least a tacit restriction on US monies going to the UN, saying that they must not be used to promote abortion. Pro-lifers are angry at Congress for not going further, arguing that the restriction would have little, if any, effect. President Clinton, however, demonstrating the extremism of his pro-abortion attitude, has vowed to veto the spending proposal, despite the softness of the current wording.

WOMAN FREED FROM JAIL DECIDES TO KEEP BABY

CLEVELAND, Oct 16 (LSN) - Yuriko Kawaguchi, a 20+ week pregnant woman granted bail on an appeal in order to get an abortion, has decided to carry her baby to term. She told reporters that her attempts to find an abortionist to perform a late-term abortion were unsuccessful due to the risks involved. "I will do what I can to give it a loving and caring home,'' she said.

Kawaguchi also announced her decision to sue Judge Cleary who denied her request of probation rather than a jail term. Kawaguchi contends that Judge Cleary forbade the probation for the sole reason of preventing the abortion. The pro-life Judge denies the charge, but has said: "I'm not going to be a hypocrite. I think it worked out swell if that was her desire to abort her child that late."
